Two men killed in fatal crash near Honolulu airport

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A fatal crash involving a vehicle and a three-wheeled motorcycle occurred on the H-1 East Freeway in the airport area at around 9:25 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the Honolulu Police Department, the vehicle, traveling eastbound on the H-1 near exit 18B, rear-ended the motorcycle.

The 37-year-old male vehicle driver was transported by emergency services in critical condition.


Traffic fatalities up 17% statewide; pedestrian deaths increase

Both the 55-year-old male motorcycle passenger and the 56-year-old male operator were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
