UFC fighter B.J. Penn asks court to recall arrest warrants

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Former UFC fighter B.J. Penn is asking a court to recall the bench warrants issued for his arrest, following the athlete’s legal troubles this week.

The warrants followed his failure to appear in court on separate charges related to abuse of a family member.

Penn said he missed court due to him being sick with COVID and requested the court to recall his warrants.

A temporary restraining order filed by Penn’s mother allege that the fighter is experiencing mental health issues and believes that his family have been replaced by imposters.
