HONOLULU (KHON2) — Tomorrow, Nov. 7, UH Athletics is kicking off a three-day food drive to help gather donations to support those affected by the ongoing government shutdown.

Donations will be accepted outside Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center at Gate A.

Saturday, Nov. 8

“We know cheering on our teams creates joy for fans,” Athletics Director Matt Elliott said. “But there are times, like now, where we can play another important role in our community. Many of our friends within our state and on campus are being affected by the shutdown and we want to do our part to help. We’ve said it and we’ll continue to live it, this is “Our Team, Hawai’i’s Team,” and we’ll always be here to help.”
All food donations from the Our Team, Hawai’i’s Team Food Drive will go towards the UH Mānoa Food Vault and federal workers who have been furloughed.
