UH introduces 7 new perks for their football fans

HONOLULU (KHON2) — University of Hawai‘i football fans can expect several new features at Clarence T.C. Ching Complex this fall. The school announced game day enhancements ahead of the 2025 season-opener against Stanford on Saturday, Aug. 23.

Here’s what we know:

1. Cooling and comfort

Cooling stations will be set up inside Ching Complex. There will be bottled water available at all Sodexo concession stands and food trucks.

Fans also have the option of using the shaded seating at Les Murakami Stadium, and this will open two hours before kickoff with concessions and restrooms.

2. Ticketing and entry

Season ticket holders will have exclusive lines at Gates 2 and 3. Both digital and hard tickets will show identifying marks to allow entry through these lanes.

3. Tailgating returns

Tailgating will be held for every home game in Zone 13. This will stretch from Kennedy Theatre to Campus Center.

The lots for this will be open four hours before kickoff, and spaces are first come first served. And remember that passes are required to enter.

4. Pre-game festivities

The popular Pāʻina on the Path is returning two hours before kickoff along Legacy Path. The free event features entertainment, food, vendors and a Keiki Zone.

Fans can also greet the team during the “Warrior Walk” as players head to Lower Campus for the game.

5. Concert series

Hawai‘i’s Finest will again host live performances. Highlights for these concerts include High Watah on Aug. 23, Natty Vibes on Sept. 6, and Kapena on Nov. 8.

The series offers fans a chance to enjoy free live music before kickoff.

6. Concessions

Fans will see new self-service refrigerators at Les Murakami Stadium stands. Other upgrades include:

  • Faster draft lines.
  • Hawkers who will check IDs at the point of sale.
  • More than 20 food and beverage vendors.

These additions aim to speed service and give fans more options on game day, so everyone can enjoy their day rather than standing in lines.

7. Game themes

The seven dates for home games will feature special nights such as Country Western Night on Sept. 6, Hawai‘i Heroes on Sept. 20, and Senior Night on Nov. 29.

Each theme is designed to celebrate the community and highlight different groups of fans and supporters.
