Violent crimes increasing on O’ahu: Survey

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A recent violent crime survey by the Major Cities Chiefs Association reveals an increase in homicides and rapes on O’ahu.

The survey reports 16 homicides in the first half of 2024, up from 15 during the same period in 2023.

Rape cases have risen to 164, compared to 136 last year.

Conversely, robberies have decreased to 287 this year from 428 previous year.
