HALEʻIWA (KHON2) – Today, Sept. 13, Waimea Valley and its community hosted a restorative Kalo and ʻAwa festival, featuring local vendors and honoring Hawaiian culture.
Today, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., this festival features Aloha Festival’s Royal Court, marking its 17th year.
Along with no cost, the festival celebrated the harvest of kalo and ʻawa, including demos, a keiki booth, and more.
The Kalo and ʻAwa Festival also honored Jerry Konanui, a great Kalo Harvester, with a special appearance by his ‘ohana.
