HONOLULU (KHON2) — Election Day is a State and City holiday. Since we’re only two days away from Tuesday, Nov. 5, here’s a look at what is open and closed for the holiday.
Maui, Kauai and Honolulu County officials released a full list of offices and state services that will either be limited or closed on Election Day.
Oahu
According to the City and County, all satellite city halls and driver licensing centers and the Neal S. Blaisdell Center box office will be closed. Additionally, the People’s Open Markets will not be held.
Residents can also expect their trash to be picked up as transfer stations and landfills will remain open.
All parks, botanical gardens, City golf courses and the Honolulu Zoo will be open. First responder services such as EMS, HFD, HPD and others will be available as needed by residents.
As for transportation, TheBus will operate on its weekday/no school schedule and the Skyline will operate on a state holiday schedule from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Maui
County offices such as the Office of Recovery, Recovery Permit Center and Maui Service Center will be closed.
Though residential trash pickup remains unchanged, Hāna, Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi landfills will be closed. Central Maui Landfill, Maui EKO Compost and Olowaly Recycling and Refuse Convenience Center will operate on shortened hours.
Officials also announced all county pools will be closed and the Maui Bus will operate on its regular schedule.
Kauai
Kauai Police Department’s Records services and firearms registration will operate on modified hours.
The Records window will be open on Nov. 4 and Nov. 6 to Nov. 8 and will operate from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The office will be closed on Nov. 5 to observe General Election Day.
All operations are expected to resume as normal on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
