Winston Churchill’s great Canadian adventure in 1929

A new statue of Sir Winston Churchill was unveiled in Calgary Thursday, as the world marked the 80th anniversary of D-Day. A look back at newspapers of the day reflect Churchill’s reputation as a unique politician and reflect his interest in Canada and Alberta.
