HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department is asking for the public’s aid in locating an attempted murder suspect, who police say tried to mortally wound his wife on the morning of March 20 in the Pali Lookout area.
Gerhardt Konig, a 46-year-old man from Maui, was on Oahu with his wife when he allegedly tried to push her off of a hiking trail and allegedly struck his wife in the head with a rock.
The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Konig is described as 5 feet 9 inches, 160 pounds and has brown hair with green eyes. He was last seen in the Pali Lookout area, wearing a light gray shirt and blue shorts while carrying a black bag.
Those who spot Konig or have any information regarding the incident are urged to contact 911.
