Saint Louis alumnus Marcus Mariota has been placed on injured reserve and will have to miss at least four games.
Mariota, who is entering his 10th NFL season and first with the Washington Commanders, is currently dealing with a strained pectoral muscle, according to Commanders head coach Dan Quinn.

Washington’s regular season begins on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 10:25 a.m. HST.
Per NFL rules, players placed on injured reserve must miss at least four games. The earliest Mariota can return is on Oct. 6 in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns.
