Amber Jackson’s body was found 15 years ago today. Her loved ones are offering $20K for any leads

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Fifteen years to the date, 57-year-old Kauaʻi resident Amber Jackson was found in a remote part of the island, after she had been brutally murdered by a blow to the head, and her loved ones are still urging anyone with any information to come forward.

Jackson was reported missing for just over a week prior to the discovery of her body, and there have not been any arrests in relation to the murder case.

The Kauaʻi Police Department has since renewed its appeal to the public for any critical information that may lead to the closure of the 2010 murder, with authorities continuing to investigate all possible leads.

“Our objective remains clear: to identify and prosecute the person or persons responsible for Amber’s death,” KPD Assistant Chief Darren Rose said. “We believe someone out there knows something. Even a small piece of information could help us move this case forward.”

The Amber Jackson Justice Group, formed up of Jackson’s family and friends, are offering at $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of Jackson’s killer.

“We are still grieving our beloved Amber’s senseless and brutal murder, and we are not giving up. We know that someone out there has the information that will help solve the case,” said Matt Alexander, Jackson’s nephew. “If you or someone you know has information that could shed light on the murder of Amber Jackson, please come forward.”

In 2010, Jackson’s body was found by a pig hunter’s dogs, with an autopsy determining she had suffered blunt force trauma to her head and sustained injuries caused by an assault. The California-born woman had been living on Kauaʻi for a decade and worked for the Hawaiʻi State Teachers Association.
