Another month, another movie: Sunset on the Beach is back

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Looking for something to do with the family tomorrow? Well, Sunset on the Beach in Waikiki is back for another month.

Wake Up 2Day’s Chris Latronic went live from Queen’s Beach with a preview of the event on Saturday, June 28.

He met with Southwest Airlines HNL Station Manager Christina Leilua and Southwest Airlines Assistant Manager of Operations Tishara Sataraka for more details.

The airline partnered with the City and County of Honolulu and the Waikiki Improvement Association to create a special series of family-friendly movie nights with the sun setting as their backdrop.

The first event of the summer kicked off in May, with a special screening of Lilo and Stitch. For the month of July, beachgoers can participate in “Minion Mayhem” with a screening of Despicable Me 4.

Festivities kick off on Saturday, June 28 at 4:30 p.m. with a movie start time of 7:35 p.m.
