The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors welcomed the top team in the Mountain West Conference on Saturday.
Hawaii football hosted San Diego State in a wet and rainy game.
In the 1st quarter, UH started slow in the first drive as they turned it over on an interception. But after that, Hawaii clicked on offense.
Micah Alejado connected with Jackson Harris on a 9 yard touchdown reception to give the ‘Bows a lead. Which the drive was fueled by an unsportsmanlike penalty by the Aztecs on 3rd and long, giving UH a spark of life and the ‘Bows made the most of it.
But Hawaii didn’t stop there as Alejado found Harris again for a touchdown in the 1st quarter, this time a 34 yard connection to put UH up 14-3.
Over in the 2nd quarter, the ‘Bows defense continued to make their presence felt as they only allowed 1 field goal in the quarter. The Offense on the other hand added to their lead.
Alejado found Harris for their 3rd Touchdown connection, this time it was a 35 yard play.
Hawaii went into the half with a 24-6 lead and the defense held the Aztecs run game to only 21 yards at halftime.
In the 3rd quarter, Cam Barfield opened up the half with a 86 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Just 12 minutes later, Elijah Palmer jumped a passing line to intercept the Aztecs which turned into a 53 yard pick-6.
The ‘Bows led 38-6 with 10:00 left in the 4th quarter. As the defense held SDSU 1-11 on 3rd downs up until that point in the game.
Hawaii would go on to win 38-6.
