HONOLULU (KHON2) — Honolulu Fire Department responded to an injured 8-year-old boy on the Koko Head trail after falling 20 feet.
On July 5, HFD reported that an 8-year-old boy was hiking with his parents when he fell approximately 20 feet down a shaft that led to a bunker-like room located near the top of the trail.
HFD said rescuers were able to provide basic life support treatment, and the boy was extracted from the trail.
The boy was transferred to Emergency Medical Services and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
