Near Schofield Barracks on Oahu, Army wildland teams, federal firefighters, and soldiers from the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade have dropped more than 200,000 gallons of water since the blaze began on June 3, officials said Tuesday.

Army aircrews are continuing targeted drops of over 660 gallons per load to douse hotspots and strengthen containment lines.

As of the latest update, the fire has scorched approximately 570 acres and is 50% contained. Officials say there is currently no immediate threat to nearby homes or military facilities.

Meanwhile, on Maui, the Kahikinui brush fire is now 93% contained. The fire, located on the mauka side of Piilani Highway near mile markers 24 and 25, has burned roughly 330 acres.

According to the Maui Fire Department, crews remain on scene to extinguish remaining hotspots and are working toward full containment. No injuries or damage to structures have been reported, and evacuation orders were lifted Monday night.
