“Hawaii is proud to welcome some of the world’s top esports talent,” said Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke. “This event is more than just competition—it’s about inspiring students, opening career pathways, and fostering connections across cultures. During my visit to South Korea, I saw firsthand how gaming fuels innovation, education, and international collaboration, and we’re thrilled to continue building Hawaii’s presence in the global esports arena.”

In addition to the competition, the UAC students will share their personal experiences of living and studying in South Korea while earning an American degree.

“As the esports competition at Farrington continues to grow, partnerships like the one with UAC are essential for helping students prepare for careers in high-tech industries,” said Josh Dimaya, Director of Farrington’s Esports Program. “This tournament is a great example of how esports can bring together people from different cultures and backgrounds, all while building a strong foundation for future success in technology fields.”

Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi also applauded the tournament, emphasizing how it showcases the talent of local students while strengthening connections through gaming and technology.

“Esports is not just about competition—it’s about creating pathways to careers in digital media, innovation, and tech,” Mayor Blangiardi said. “This tournament represents a big step forward for our city as we continue to nurture our esports community.”
