Quinn Waiki is a freshman for the San Diego State Softball team this season and secured herself one of the highest honors in the conference.
The Hilo native and Campbell High School alum was named the Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
The Freshman finished the regular season with 61 assists, 38 putouts and a fielding percentage of 980. Going into the final week of the conference season, Waiki had 0 errors in the field.
She was also a part of 10 out of the teams 15 double plays in the field. Waiki is the 1st ever Freshman to win DPOY in the Mountain West Conference.
