HONOLULU (KHON2) — This morning, the Honolulu Police Department has opened multiple attempted murder investigations into incidents that occurred late last night in Waipiʻo and Waikīkī.
In Waipiʻo, around 11:15 p.m., HPD discovered a man with gunshot wounds.
Homicide detectives have been assigned to the case and no further information has been released, officials said.
In Waikīkī, HPD officers responded to an assault involving two men in front of the Waikīkī Beachside Hostel on Lemon Road.
HPD says the victim was a 50-year-old male visitor who was assaulted by a 43-year-old male. The suspect attacked the visitor without any reason, officials said.
The victim was transported to the hospital with severe head injuries and the suspect was arrested for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, HPD said.
