Man, 36, arrested in string of Molotov cocktail fires

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Honolulu Police Department confirmed an arrest of a man connected to a string of Molotov cocktail fires.

Police said that on Monday, June 30, around 8 p.m., a 36-year-old male was found stopping traffic on a stolen moped. He was arrested for defaced serial numbers of a moped.

Police found that the same man was identified as a suspect in an arson case on Saturday, June 28, where a masked man started a fire using a Molotov cocktail.

The man was also a suspect in another arson on Sunday, June 20. Both incidents happened in the Waipahu area.

Police said charges are pending.
