Man, 36, in critical condition following Waianae crash

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A motorcyclist has been hospitalized in critical condition following a crash in the Waianae area.

The incident happened on Tuesday, May 20, around 7:30 a.m. on Waianae Valley Road.

According to the Honolulu Police Department, a 31-year-old driver was heading north when he tried to turn left into a private driveway.

At the same time, the 36-year-old motorcyclist was heading southbound on Waianae Valley Road.

The motorcyclist then hit the 31-year-old man.

As a result of the crash, the 36-year-old was ejected onto the road.

Paramedics with Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and took the motorcyclist to the hospital in critical condition.

HPD said the 36-year-old was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
