HONOLULU (KHON2) — An Oʻahu Grand Jury indicted a 22-year-old man on June 20 for allegedly firing a gun at another vehicle in Waikīkī.
According to the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney, Ezra Madali shot a firearm at another vehicle when it had merged into the lane that Madali was driving in on June 16.
Madali was indicted for Reckless Endangering in the First Degree, Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree and Place to Keep Pistol/Revolver.
“The alleged conduct in this case was senseless and dangerous. Fortunately, no one was injured. We are grateful for the swift investigative work by the Honolulu Police Department,” said Prosecuting Attorney Steve Alm. “We will work to ensure justice in this matter to protect our community.”
Madali was able to post his $50,000 bail, with Judge Ronald Johnson increasing his bail to $120,000 afterward.
If convicted on all counts, Madali could face up to a 20-year sentence. He is also subject to extended sentencing as he is a multiple offender.
