MAKIKI, Hawaii (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department is investigating an attempted murder in the Makiki area.
Officials said the incident happened just after midnight on Thursday, July 3, at the Makiki Shopping Center.
In a social media post, HPD reported that a 43-year-old man was approached at an ATM by an unknown male suspect.
The suspect then stabbed and assaulted the victim multiple times before he fled with the victim’s money.
HPD said the victim brought himself to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for multiple stab wounds. He is in critical condition.
