HONOLULU (KHON2) — Oʻahu’s North Shore is seeing some very large north swells this weekend, April 5 and April 6, as the NWS is forecasting waves above 25 feet across the islands.
NWS says that Big Island will also see a High Surf Warning on their north-facing shores, with north-facing exposures near Kua Bay also potentially seeing big waves. West Maui will also be affected.
Heavy harbor surges are also expected along harbors in Kahului and Hilo, with the NWS issuing a Small Craft Advisory for waters exposed to these conditions.
The NWS says that the large swells will arrive on April 5, peaking that night and lasting into the next day. For more information on the waves and NWS’ state wide surf forecast, visit their website.
