Jacelyn Ho, co-chair of the 2024 Narcissus Queen Search, highlighted the diverse educational offerings available to contestants, ranging from classes on Chinese history and martial arts to sessions on personal presentation and makeup application.

“It’s really wonderful that contestants get a chance to learn about many different aspects of Chinese culture. These experiences not only build self-confidence but also foster professionalism among our participants,” said Ho.

As a former Narcissus contestant and Princess, Ho encourages eligible women to participate in this year’s event.

“Being a Narcissus Queen contestant, especially during this 75th Jubilee Anniversary year, will reap you a lifetime of benefits. You will network and forge lasting friendships with other young women dedicated to self-improvement,” Ho added.

To qualify, prospective contestants must meet specific criteria to be eligible for the title:

Be at least 25% Chinese

Fall between the ages of 19 and 26 at the time of the pageant

Have never been married or given birth

Have been a resident of Hawaii for at least 12 months prior to the pageant
