HONOLULU (KHON2) — The University of Hawaii (UH) reported that its search for a new president is progressing on schedule.
The university received over 90 applications for the position.
Finalists for the role are expected to be announced next month.
The new president will oversee the university’s ten-campus system and succeed David Lassner, who will retire at the end of the year.
All finalists will be evaluated by stakeholders and the 11-member Board of Regents before a final decision is made.
The new president is anticipated to be announced in October or November and will start their term in early 2025.
