HONOLULU (KHON2) – The 70-year-old man in Hilo who was arrested in Saturday’s fatal Hilo incident has now been charged.
On Sunday, Nov. 9, Robert Clifford Bradshaw was charged with second-degree murder and first-degree criminal property damage. His bail is set at $510,000, and he’ll be in Hilo District Court on Monday, Nov. 10.
The incident happened just after 7:30 a.m. Saturday on Kamehameha Avenue. Officers say Bradshaw walked up to a 64-year-old man with a knife and the two got into a fight. Police say Bradshaw then got back into his van, ran over the victim, and drove away.
Officers found Bradshaw a short time later and arrested him. He was checked at the hospital for minor injuries, then taken to the East Hawaiʻi Detention Facility.
The victim was taken to Hilo Medical Center, where he died just after 9 a.m. His name hasn’t been released yet.
