Where will the 50th State Fair be held this year?

HONOLULU (KHON2) — According to Aloha Stadium officials, the annual 50th State Fair will not be held at Aloha Stadium this summer.

Demolition for the aging facility is expected to begin in August.

As a result, the swap meet is being relocated to the Upper Halawa lot, and parking will be moved to the lower lot, which is where the 50th State Fair is typically held.

“So, because of this construction timetable, we just weren’t able to offer the venues to them for their normal use that they’ve done in the past,” said Chris Sadayasu, Stadium Authority interim stadium manager.

Sadayasu said their events manager has been in frequent contact with EK Fernandez and has provided ample notice.

EK Fernandez said they are still holding out hope and are looking for other venues moving forward.

The company added that they are also considering smaller events at smaller venues.
