Four people rescued after sailboat runs aground near Rockpiles

HONOLULU (KHON2) — On the afternoon of Feb. 1, Ocean Safety and Honolulu Fire Department rescued four boaters near the Rockpiles surf break offshore of Waikiki.

The four boaters were on a 30-foot sailboat that was ran aground and subsequently disabled on the surf break. Ocean Safety was able to secure the rescue of three passengers, while HFD secured the boat and brought the final passenger ashore.

There were no reports of injuries due to the event.
