PAHOA, Hawaii (KHON2) — The Hawaiʻi Police Department led a major drug and weapons seizure in Pahoa on June 24, in coordination with Homeland Security Investigations.
The bust came as the departments executed a federal search warrant at two residences in Pahoa, where authorities found a significant amount of paraphernalia.
During the operation, officials say they recovered the following:
- Almost 290 grams of methamphetamine.
- Almost 460 grams of cocaine.
- More than 1,700 grams of methamphetamine oil.
- Seven firearms.
- More than 6,000 rounds of ammunition.
- More than $14,000.
According to officials, possible explosive devices and bomb-making materials were also recovered during the bust.
On June 25, FBI, Maui and Kauaʻi Police Department bomb technicians were able to secure and remove two partially constructed pipe bombs, black powder, flash powder and other explosive materials, police said. Authorities also reported a methamphetamine conversion lab was located on the property.
A 54-year-old male suspect was arrested during the bust on multiple drug, firearm and explosives-related charges. He remains in custody.
