HONOLULU (KHON2) — Hawaiian Airlines earned 7th place out of 11 major U.S. airlines in in a new study examining airlines based in the United States.
While it didn’t make the top of the list, it stood out in one important area: comfort. That’s great news for people who care more about having a relaxing flight than just saving money.

Top marks for comfort
Hawaiian Airlines tied with JetBlue Airways for being the most comfortable airline in the country. That means passengers can enjoy free snacks and drinks, Wi-Fi and more legroom on their flights.

Safety and pet travel
Hawaiian Airlines also has a solid record for safety. In 2024, there were no major accidents or injuries, which helps give passengers peace of mind. On top of that, Hawaiian had zero pet incidents; so, it’s a safe choice for travelers flying with animals.
Not the most reliable but still strong
In past years, Hawaiian Airlines had strong scores for reliability, but its performance dropped a little in 2024. This means more flights were delayed or canceled than usual. While this might be a downside, the airline still has a good track record overall; and it could bounce back in the future.
Cost: Middle of the road
When it comes to ticket prices, Hawaiian Airlines isn’t the cheapest, but it’s not the most expensive either. Some airlines like Spirit or Frontier charge less, but they don’t offer the same comfort or free services. So, Hawaiian may cost a bit more; but you’re paying for a better experience.
