HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department opened an attempted sex assault investigation after a 22-year-old woman was attacked outside her home on Nov. 6.
The alleged attack occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. while the woman was taking out the trash at her Waiʻalae Avenue home, police said.
An unknown man allegedly assaulted her and attempted to remove her clothing, officials said. The victim was able to fight back and escape, but did sustain injuries.
The man then left in an unknown direction, authorities said.
