Los Angeles Rams to refurbish locker rooms at Lahaina high school

MAUI, Hawaii (KHON2) — The Los Angeles Rams announced an initiative to support the Maui community by building new locker rooms at Lahainaluna High School in Lahaina, in partnership with Hollman Lockers and design firm Forty Nine Degrees.

The announcement comes during the football team’s minicamp taking place in Maui, known as Mauicamp.

Over 450 student-athletes and coaches’ homes were destroyed in the catastrophic Lahaina wildfire back in 2023, with many also losing loved ones. Despite their great loss, the local football team rallied together to serve as a symbol of resilience in the face of devastation.

Lahainaluna High School’s team were previously honored by the NFL as honorary coin toss captains at Super Bowl LVIII, with the team later being followed in an NFL Films documentary.

Now, in addition to their previous recognition, the Rams will design professional-grade lockers and fully renovate both boys’ and girls’ locker rooms at the school.

“As part of our partnership to launch Mauicamp with the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority, we’re thrilled to support Lahainaluna High School and its student-athletes who have been such an inspiration to their community,” Rams Executive Vice President of Community Impact and Engagement Molly Higgins said.

The renovation will include custom-built lockers, integrate seating and storage, inspiration graphics and more. The redesign was inspired by Lahainaluna’s deep-rooted traditions, featuring phrases like “We are one,” “Remember who we are and who represent,” and more.

“We’re honored to bring the same state-of-the-art lockers that we build for collegiate and professional sports teams to Lahainaluna High School,” Travis Hollman, CEO of Hollman Lockers, said. “After everything they’ve been through, these student athletes deserve the best, and we’re proud to donate the lockers to this worthy community.”

The locker room designs were unveiled at a community celebration on June 17, hosted by the football team.

“Our players have faced unimaginable challenges, and this support from the Rams, Hollman Lockers and Forty Nine Degrees will have a meaningful impact on the school and the entire island of Maui,” Lahainaluna football co-Head Coach Dean Rickard said. “The lockers mean more than just a place to gear up — they represent a fresh start and a symbol of the community’s resilience.”
