Woman, 25, dead following crash in Aiea

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A woman has died following a vehicle crash in Aiea.

On July 4 around 11 a.m., a 40-year-old male was driving northbound on Kahuapaani Street with a 34-year-old passenger when police say he ignored a red traffic signal and attempted to turn left onto Mananai Place.

During the turn, police said his vehicle was hit by a 22-year-old female who was driving southbound on Kahuapaani Street with her 25-year-old passenger.

As a result of the crash, both drivers were transported to an area hospital in good condition, and the male driver’s passenger refused medical treatment at the scene.

The female driver’s passenger was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where she later died.

This is the 41st traffic fatality on Oʻahu this year compared to 16 at this time in 2024.

This investigation is ongoing.
